Does anyone have the removal procedures for the CVT and PTU for an awd jeep patriot 2.4l ?

All the bolts appear to be removed from ptu housing to trans but it is not budging.
I recall being able to leave the cvt in place and just remove the cvt down below. Been a minute since messing with these Jatco's.

No, didn't see it neeing to as just the CVT needs to come out, but wanted both instructions for reviewing. What is the common practice in removing just the CVT?

manual says ptu must be removed

Thank you.

I have the trans brackets and mounts removed 100%, those 6 PTU through bolts removed and removed the CVT housing to Engine Block bolts. The CVT should pull away and separate if I am not held up by anything else?
i guess I am not seeing a bolt I may have missed or the PTU, Engine Block, & CVT housings are stuck together by age & corrosion. Hopefully the alignment dowels are not being the big hold up.

not sure about those but the 500 and freestyle ones would get stuck together. the PTU drive would rust in the trans

You know if that warranted a complete replacement of cvt and ptu together or was it separable without damage?

Actually I believe it was the right shaft that was stuck. Sometimes we could go from the other side and pound them out. That was a line time ago

Is it possible to perform the Re-initialize procedure for a jeep patriot after a remanufactured trans was installed using the old tcm without the use of a Star Scan, Star Mobile or Witech?
