well they stopped making the standard cherokee which was like the best vehicle ever made on the planet.

Wow...

I had an 03 Limited for the wife and that was a nice ride IMO.
She wants another actually, but another 2003 as she is not fond of the newer body style. I guess others have the same opinion.

Not like they created their own situation some with the Commander and 4 door Wrangler.

Hmmm do you think that has anything to do with fuel prices? :dontknow: Look at the Explorer #'s

Explorer Sales

Almost looks like the same

I had two Explorers. 1998 and a 2000. Same 4dr Eddie Bauers with the same 4.0L SOHC. I had them in 2001 and in 2005. Both nice trucks, but seriously....what a POS. Those things rode like bounce buggies they handled like shit, the brakes sucked, and they were slower than shit. The 2002+ models have improved greatly, but I haven't driven one of those.

well of course, dipshizzle. I'm just surprised it's THAT bad. Are the Exploder numbers off that bad as well? I mean, that's almost an 80% drop in sales...

Edit: Just saw KB's post with the Explorer sales... even worse! Down almost 90%. That's INSANE

Yet they sold like hotcakes! :D

Yes, Explorers have pretty much DIED! Ford is putting out an all new Explorer this year. Fuel economy, space and ride will all be improved.

Dont forget power and looks!

Power................jury is still out on the looks. Kind of reminds me of a beefed upTaurus X from the pictures I've seen. The 1/4 glass looks almost like they took the old parts off the shelf. Do you have anything to post?

Would still love to have an 04 or so...

Yea, all the midzsizes have tanked - trucks and SUV's. Who wants weak mileage and not quite the size of a fullsize. I get 16 mpg city in my Silverado (OK, 15.5 rounded up). That is about all you get in a midsize SUV. My TBSS only got 14. People have realized that cars or small crossovers can do the same job with better mileage.

Or a 305 hp v6 Mustang that gets 31 mpg. Almost as efficient as my Cobalt.
