That...or not driving at a retarded rate of speed on public roads while to roads were slick. (I did, 1 time drive like an asshole on the expressway coming back from Canada...and that was a DRY expressway. I have menetioned that story here once or twice before.)

Dave- Hope you learned something from this! Drinking and driving is stupid...duh!

Feel free to call all these people hypocrites, because they might not drink and drive now, but they sure as hell have done it before.

Most of us have drove after a party and we think we are ok but you have to bone up and except what comes your way and move on with your life. And keep the pictures handy to remind you what will happen and has to you. And like everyone else said it's good that it was just you in that hosiptal bed and noone else. That's scary to think that it can happen to ANYONE even me driving home.
 
So what you guys are admitting is that all of you (except Autoeuphoria) have done it before. Of course you have. Damn near everyone has. I'm an old man compared to a lot of you guys, so it's been at least 12 years for me, but almost all of us have done it before. If you didn't crash you were lucky, because impaired is impaired, and even if you don't drive stupid, you guys all risked your own life and others by doing it, so you shouldn't be lecturing the guy too much....if you didn't notice, he has been punished already, and the law hasn't even started on him yet.

I'm with Auto. NEVER. Ask my friends...I'm always DD. Ever go through McD's with a bunch of drunks in the car when you're the sober one? It's a riot. :lol:

No kidding. All of you are a little pot calling kettle here. I know that 99.9% of you have driven at .09% I could care less if you did or didn't get caught or thought you were ok to drive. It doesnt matter WHEN WHERE or HOW it happened :shake: Either way it happened, luckily everyone is 'ok'. I've drank and drove probably when I shouldn't have once. I went about a mile doing 30. It was retarded but I felt 'fine'. Like someone else said. Step back and take a look at yourself first. I HATE people that drink and drive. Yea. I hate myself for the one time I did it. I'll never do it again though, I am too smart. This sucks that this happened. Hopefully a lesson for EVERYONE.
 
I worked in Emergency for 3.5 years as an Emergency Technician II @ Beaumont in Royal Oak. I noticed your wrist restraints... were you pulling on tubes? or trying to hit ppl :bowrofl:
 
IM gonna have to side with Raj on this. No matter if it was 1 year ago or 10 years ago, most of us have driven drunk. It doesnt go away over time. You did it and thats that. Some of us have gotten lucky, some of us have gotten pulled over and some have crashed.

Be lucky you are alive. Hell my unlce was killed by a drunk driver, but did that stop me when I was a teen and thought i was invinsible??? nope, I drove drunk a few times. Luckily my stupidity didnt get the best of me and I didnt kill anyone. Lesson learned wont do that again.
 
Foremost. Thank God you are ok. If I was you, I'd be wheeled into the nearest church and spend some good ole' fashioned quality time with God thanking him and trying to figure out what he has in store for you to spare your life as such.

Now to the other discussion. If you were driving illegally and were intoxicated, I pray that you never pick up another drink in your life. I don't drink except for maybe once a year, and it's typically one Mikes Hard and even then I don't drive. I agree with Al 100% though. If you weren't drinking, then all of this is just crap talk. If you were, please stop and think next time you think you can handle a drink or two. Next time it might be a family of 4 that stops your drunk ass, and I guarantee you that you won't want to live the rest of your life if you kill someone.
 
damn man glad your ok.. just hope you learn from this and do not drink and drive anymore.... as for the people bashing i understand where your coming from, but considering this guy is sitting in a hospital bed with MULTIPLE severe injuries, i think you guys could hold off till he is doing better and then tell him how dumb he is for what happened.. be glad another life wasn't taken due to a Drinking and Driving accident... and AL i really hope by you saying your sorry ONLY his car was taken, you're not implying you meant his Life... I am glad you are back on the board, but to say something like that is not needed, and my opinion of you will definetly be changed....

As for the D and D I am lucky i didnt ever get into wreck or hurt/kill anyone I just had the pleasure of paying grosse point and the state of michigan about 3k...
I couldnt live with the alternative on my hands....
If you were impared, I hope you now will think twice next time you drink....
I know i will, because of what happened to you and your car...could have been much worse... Get better soon!

I have drivin one car after having a few drinks and that was like a 4-5 hours period and I dont think I had a thing to drink for over 3 hrs besides about 5 waters/cokes. I have never gotn behind the wheel at another time after having a drink. The amount of times iv drank while owning a car I can count on 2 hands. Call it B.S but I wont drive after a drink unless its been a long while, iv walked over 3 miles befor with a few friends to get to somones home. I have drivin a pedal bike though
 
wish you well man. I have't been the greatest, i did it once when i was 16 and i was smashed. I was lucky i didn't kill someone or myself.
It was a fast growing up experience.
 
damn that's crazy! hope you have a speedy recovery! just thank the good lord your still breathing and not paralyzed or brain dead! (or more importantly kill someone!) far as lecturing you about drinking and driving i really can't because i use to do it myself! (and it was just fucking stupid of me!)

thank god for my daughter's/wife/and job! way to much to lose now! cab is way cheaper to me!
