So I go to sleep at about 3:30ish and Instantly pass out. I get woken up very startled because the sound of water RUNNING is in my room. So I get up and put the pj's on and go investigate.
I walk to the stairs (I am in the basement) and I see water running from the ceiling. I get a little concerned and think that I might of left water upstairs running. So I scurry upstairs and see my kitchen FLOODED. My heart sank.
I look at the light fixture I just turned on only to see it lightly brightening up the room and see water not dripping but FULL STREAM Monsoon'in in my kitchen. So thus meaning its further up in my home.
So I yell upstairs to make sure everyone is ok. I don't get a response, only thing I hear is the sound of rushing water. I yell again and get nothing. My heart sank even further, shit something happened. Options:
a. Its storming absolutely CRAZY outside and the roof caved in.
b. Someone was running water and something happened to them.
c. water line broke in between the floors.
I run upstairs to make sure everyone is ok. They were fine so I run to the guest room/ guest bathroom and to see a fountain of water rushing against the wall. The fucking toilet line broke and was spraying everywere.
Now, I have pictures and i'll slowly explain them from the culprit to my living quarters.
This is what broke one floor #3.
It ran through here.
Onto this carpet.
Down this crack.
Which ran down into the kitchen area onto this light.
bucket under ceiling light.
^filled in 3 minutes^
If you look at the dark lines that is CRACKS in my BRAND NEW CEILING. This is how much water is in between the floors and putting stress on the ceiling.
This is the office located next to the kitchen. There was a brand new laptop sitting on the desk in the blank spot. Unfortunately it wasn't wearing is scuba gear and it is toast.
This is how much of the kitchen the water covered. Its brand new stone flooring and not shiny, normally.
It ran down the kitchen floor down this crack.
INto the basement.
To show the differences.
and onto my dresser in my room.
I took the picture after I shut the water off obviously but the water was doing a steady stream all the way into my room, And the cracks were leaking a perfect v-shaped stream down everything.
I have only been sleeping for about 40 minutes tops and this had to of all happened within that time span.
Now, onto why i'm packing. Were going to have to move out. The insurance company is going to have to come in and replace all the ceilings and bracing because we are pretty sure the wood is older (house built in 1942) and the wood is very absorbent in the bracing and obviously flooded with water becuase its not 5:15 and still dripping in the kitchen/office.
I got a pretty good routine on moving out because this house caught on fire not to long ago and we had to live in a hotel for 4 weeks until they insurance company gave us an apartment to live in.
This absolutely sucks, but I think I might end up staying in farmington hills.
