IT help--Transfering favorites

Open up Windows Explorer, go look on your C: drive for a path that looks something like this:

C:\Users\{your user name}\Favorites [VISTA]
C:\Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Favorites [XP]

All of the folders and files in that directory should look like your Favorites in IE.

{your user name} would be whatever ID name the person set your PC up with. Could be your first name, etc. Look for something familiar.

Assuming one of those two paths works for win2k, all you need to do is select all, copy, and paste into the same folder on the XP/IE7 machine. use a flash drive, etc.

Ummm. :)

Double click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. There should be a C: drive listed as one of the icons. If so, click it. Then click the "Document and Settings" folder, then another folder that is your {username}... the actual name will be specific to your PC - your first name, etc... Once there, double click the Favorites folder.
