Issue with Ford dealer on new F150 purchase...

I wouldn't have bought it until it was fixed. When my gf bought her car I told them I wanted a couple of things taken care of. She was approved and ready to buy but I told them we would wait until those things were fixed. They said "we will have them fixed by Thursday" (had to wait for the parts to come in) and when Thursday came it still was not done so we did not sign. They pulled the car in and fixed it that day and then we bought it.

I don't trust any dealerships to do anything for me once I drive off the lot because for the most part they are scum and when you're dealing with used cars you really don't have any options you're just screwed. Unless the car was such a steal that even with body blemish it was still good, I'd have not driven off in the truck or paid for it until it was how I wanted it. Honestly I'm surprised they have done this much for you. You must have drawn up a really good purchase agreement. Without question they had it reviewed to see if there was a way to get out of fixing it and obviously there was not. Good for you.

If it were me I would request a similar truck while this one was being worked on.

30 days does in fact make it lemon law in MI. As does 4 repeat repairs within 1 year, 12,000 miles.

I would not expect anything less than a brand new F150 which is what you paid for. Meet with the Dealer Principal and or GM and request a substitution of collateral.

Good advice....and when meeting remain CALM.

Coming from the dealership side of things, stay on them. We will bend over backwards to make a customer happy. If you can't get satisfaction with whoever you are dealing with, step up the ladder. Keep going until you reach the top. If you reach the top without any satisfaction, shame on them.

As for the Lemon Law stuff, it doesn't apply here. Worse case scenario you can contact an attorney. I don't know the exact laws (not a lawyer) but you might have a case and you might not if they don't fix it to your satisfaction.

Getting them to exchange trucks might work if you haven't put many miles on yours, but in most cases that's the last thing a dealer will do. Your truck has been registered with the state and titled to you. They would have to turn it into a demo or sell it as a used vehicle.

You Sir are just dumb.

The dealership agreed to fix the truck, so that's what they tried to do. Now the repairs, which they can't control if the PDR guy could do successfully or not is a bad deal. He is now where he didn't want to be, paint work. There is no way of changing the fact it has to be done. I feel for the OP because nobody wants to have a new car "repaired" but we (dealerships) can't avoid all accidents/damage. I hope they work it out with you and good luck.

^What this guy said, Get to the higest guy at the dealership possible, Usually if anyone has any issues at the dealer I work at, As soon as they get ahold of the GM he will tell us just do whatever it takes to make the customer happy regardless if it ends up as a write off or not get the customer happy and work out the details later. If you have already delt with the new car manager go to the next person up or even try going right to the GM/Dealer I'm sure they will work with you.

Truck does not sound new, just new to him. He stated it had 47k miles on it.

Thanks for the input guys. I am going to meet with the dealer owner and see if they can swap the truck for a new unit. Just to clear things up, the truck is brand new. It stickered for $47000.
