Is Scott(the rear end guy) still around?

Need some help with the moser 9 inch in my camaro.

Basically it has 5000 miles on it and it howls so bad at highway speeds I can't stand it anymore. I need to know what brand of gear to go with so it's quiet, I don't even care if I give up strength at this point.

Scott fixed the stocker in my 99 a couple years ago and it worked flawlessly. Mine was howling like crazy too, and needed all new bearings.

I'm going to pull it out and post up what the pattern looks like. I've been told it could be as simple as a shim.
Is there anyway to tell gear vs bearing howl???

I had the same problem with a Motive gear and switched to FMS and the noise was gone.

Whatever came with my Moser makes no noise, I'm running a spool if that makes any difference. Using a non synthetic 80w90 gear oil for break in still.

Mine is a wavetrac, probably 10k miles now and it keeps getting louder. Initially 500-1000miles it was fairly quiet.
