As clearly seen in this thread, I'm sure half of the data from that random poll was with wifi on. lol Not sure why they would make a poll like that.

I don't remember anyone (well besides all the wireless companies) saying Verizon is the fastest. I think it's more about the wider coverage and fewer dropped calls. GSM has been proven already to be a faster network on average over CDMA. So it's not a huge shocker that an iPhone on AT&T is going to have a faster download speeds vs. Verizon's network. Lots of tests out there already have proven that.

I'm assuming anyone would take the bet as the phone isn't out yet so you couldn't back it up more than likely at this point in time LOL Besides my wifes charge probably has faster data speeds than both of the aforementioned phones, well when it works anyhow.

The Nexus releases in November, so he's talking about the future. The biggest deal is that the Nexus will be running ICS. currently the biggest hold up with my Galaxy S2 is the fact that ICS isn't out. Once I get full utilization of the Dual Core, it'll fly a lot faster than it already does. From what I can see, the specs on the Nexus is the same as the GS2, with the exception that it has a 5mp camera and S2 is 8mp.
 
just tested my evo4g 12:30 pm

SPRINT

.45 mbps down, .48 mbps up

4G for sprint is a joke, they beat around the bush as to when they will be rolling out 4g service, currently grand rapids is the only city in michigan that supports sprint 4g service...

I pay 92 dollars a month, unlimited everything 450 anytime minutes, and insurance.

I guess the sprint theory is, "give them unlimited everything, but make sure our service is to slow for them to even want to abuse it..."

i did hear that the new iphone was experiencing even worse service, but on that note, sprint stated that the iphone release was the biggest movement of phone activations they have ever seen.
 
Isn't the unlimited data only for your phone and doesn't apply to tethering? (unless you're un-officially tethering...)
 
Yeah, but the only thing i would really tether this thing to is a boat anchor... I cant complain im not really a power user of smart phones. but for checking mail and watching short vids its pretty respectable.

You do realize it's being released this year right? It's already being released in Japan this week. :lol:
 
This is probably nothing new to iPhone users, but the iPhone4S hasn't changed as far as bad drop tests. Get that protective case and insurance!

Since most of you seem capable with wireless networks, maybe someone can answer this.

I have a wireless N600 router and it has both N and G capability. But I can only see my G (slower speeds) network with my phone. Is there anyway to get my phone to use the N wireless for better speeds?

The iPhone is only capable of 802.11n on the 2.4Ghz system.

"Real" N networks are 5Ghz....

Maybe in the iPhone5

This also. Though Apparently xbox360 will see 2.4N, it doesn't see 5.0n. I wasn't aware of that till just recently.
