Take it to Reiters and have todd do it. lol
I'm no expert but id say leave the motor/trans sitting in on the stock mounts then use some cardboard to mock up the motor plate.
Have Todd do it. He quoted me a good price when I was looking to have some plates put in and his work is top-notch. He goes by PacecarBBC on here.I am putting a sbc in the mustang

just put the motor as far back as you can with out the distributer hiting the firewall, get it as low as you can and just find the center the the intake and use that to center it. thats what i would do
Are the frame rails symetrical? As of now I have the motor 3/16" of the rack the distrubutor is touching the fire wall The front of the motor is centered. I am trying to figure out if the frame at the trans mount Is symetrical...... Should it equal distance between the frame rails?
i dont the the rails are symetrical. that sound good where you got it. is it a turbo 400? i know you have to beat the floor a little bit on the right side. we always put a level on the intake base plate. if you want we can go check out my white car and take some measurements or go over tonis house. he did his himself
use the cam center line and reference to the center line of the pinion.
Thats what I did.. My junks back almost 4" and down about 2".
I say just put a sbf in it!
:stupid:Damn that's what i mean!
