Intake Porting?

Looking for decently priced places that port/extrude hone intake manifolds.
I would prefer not too far from the Westland/Canton area.
Thought there may have been a place in Plymouth.

It's going to be pointless to have that intake extruded. Better off swapping in a 3.1L or 3400 (with harness swap) and a 7730 ecu upgrade.

He would have to change heads to !!! Different head design. Not the same as a late model canted valve head. the early fiero 2.8 motors had iron heads with inline valves. . I did put a late model SFI 3400 in one of those years ago now. Anyways the 7730 works and you'll need to swap to the early version of the GM DIS coil pack before the 24x ref stuff came out. It's not impossiable but it is a bit chanllegning to do.

I didnt say swap intakes, that would still be pointless.

A TGP setup would be even nice ... with an upgraded disco potato.

Modding a 2.8L is just not cost effective anymore.

There is always the edelbrock 2.8 TBI manifold with a port conversion and a big TB.The only way to step up the heads and intake is to jump to the later model engines. Which requires some fab work. It's not that hard. I have done it on a few occassions.

Just saying from past experiences and spending of the cash, swapping the entire motor out is going to be best benefit.... unless high 15 second 1/4s are all that is wanted.

Oh the old iron head 2.8 can be made to run. It just takes alot of know how and not many of the guys who know anything about those motors are still around.

They use to used them in stadium trucks years and years ago.

The factory intake is a 3 peice unit, plenum (top), runners (middle), and ports (bottom). Guessing the best way is still going to be some form of extrude hone.

BTW with only very mild mods this car has run a 15.83s 1/4 at Milan, though the main purpose is autox/road course.
I will be using the 3.4V6 out of the early 4th gen F-bodys wich is the exact same block except for more bore & stroke. The only thing missing is the FWD starter bolt holes. Using my modified intake set, accessories, and water pump it is basicly a bolt in.
I hope to be in the 180+crank hp area, which should be quite easy.

Just need to find some where to get the intake opened up to support the 3.4L.

The Fcar 3.4 has very different mounting hardware for the motor mounts. Make sure the Fiero mounts will fit.

I will not be able to use the Fcar mounts. The good thing is that the holes are there for the FWD (Fiero) mounts and front of engine (waterpump, brackets, etc). Two mounts are on the transmission.

So any one know a location that does intake porting and/or extrude honeing?

Thanks,
Was hopeing to find a generic competitor for price competition and some thing closer.

Seeing as this is a specialty process with not a huge demand, i doubt yyou will find a "competitor". And for the same, the fact that there are not many of these facilities in the US the fact you have one within reasonable driving distance is a huge bonus. You are able to see the facility, communicate directly and even get to touch and feel the product befor you buy? Not sure what else you would want?

SOrry not trying to be rude, just making a point.
