Installing coil overs

Hi guys newbie here, I have a question about my 89 Mustang GT. Im wanting to install coil overs in the rear of the car, what all is involved in doing this? Is there any special parts involved or is it a straight bolt in? Thanks in advance Sparky!

Also Im wanting to install a baseline suspention anti roll bar that connects to the axle housing and was wondering if I can weld my roll cage to the support bar that goes across the frame rails? Thanks again Sparky!

rear coilovers are straight forward except you have to enlarge the rear shock mounting hole for the coilover kit.

I dont have them on my Mach1...but my old car I did. I used the JDS performance kit. (kinda like granatelli kit). the Comp engineering kit is made a lot better IMO

are you wanting a stock location coil over or a completely new set up?

i have coil overs in the stock location with a D&D kit.

and if you havent bought the anti-roll bar yet. but it from TeamZ. better quality. and your money stays in Michigan. Dave has them on sale from time to time.

if your going to daily drive this car. dont use this type of anti-roll bar, unless you leave it unhooked for daily driving. i drive my car on the street with a TeamZ ARB, but i take it easy around the corners and steep driveways.

^^ you can drive it on the street with rear coilovers no problem at all. BUT if you use an anti-roll bar leave it unhooked or dont put it on for street driving

why are the anti roll bars so bad on the street?

drag bars are basically a solid/or hollow bar that is NOT supposed to flex(unlike normal sway bars). When driven on the street they tend to rip the mounts or damage the links

Ok so when the chassis flexes when going up a driveway approch or going over a curb that is when the bar can rip out. Thanks guys!
