whats wrong with the guard rails seriously ?

I've never had an issue with them. But the fastest I ever went on that track is high 10s. Guess some of the fast cars like them a little closer. Don't know why you'd want to get rid of them. The ones that I don't like are at Lapeer. They are too high to see the cars on the track from the pits.

When a car hits a steel guardrail, it sucks the car into it and usually makes the situation worse. Concrete walls, like the ones at Lapeer, tend to just deflect the car away .

Concrete walls retain the car. Steel guardrails almost always make a crash worse by launching the car in the air and barrel rolling, or flipping end over end.

Oops. Bad466, I didnt see your post until I commented. Sorry to repeat what you basically said.

Mid michigan is removing the guard rails currently.....don't know if they are closed for season now
