im2slow's 95 Mustang project

Oh yeah. Finishin up blocking the decklid tonight if I get my truck buttoned up in time then we will me scheduling to get the body ovoer to my house to get shot.

You find some intersting shit when painting cars, lol. I thought the hood for this thing felt awfully light when I was moving it around.. Guess this would explain it. Car should be coming over this weekend to get the final blocking done and get it ready for paint. Everything is cut in and ready to go!

It would be cool to sand it down and tape off some stripes or something and leave them the bare fibre and then clear everything, but with the style of the hoods on these things theres really no way to put a good looking stripe on them imo

Spray an over reduced coat of color so you can see the fiber through the BC, it would look sweet!

mix the BC 1:1 with reducer, spray 1 coat med/wet ,flash, then come over it with an effect coat to even out the mottle

Thats a really good idea! Ill have to ask Josh about that. Would definitly be some time invloved in sanding all the paint off the hood tho. only have 21 more days to have the project done. The base we are using on this is 1:1 normally, So would you go 1:1.5, or 1:2?

if the base is 1:1 then mix it 1:2 and you can add about 10% of binder clear for better aluminum control, what base are you using?

If you can spray a small test panel first, throw a black/white hiding chart on there to make sure the hiding is under 25% per coat

Good information right there, Forgot I just picked up some binder too. Were using shopline on this project.

Its not bad, A little small (12x20) and could use a few more lights. Cant wait to start working in my 20x24 will have many many more lights in it also. Can't complain tho at least my dad was nice enough to let me build it in his 30x32, take a pretty good chunk of it.
