I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up my TV/Surround sound setup. It's an LCD widescreen with a Sony surround sound system, DVD player, xbox 360, cable box, and ofcourse the sony surround sound receiver...

I dont have any pics but my LCD is above the fireplace with a denon system to match. the fronts are on the mantel and the rears are facing from the sides (my couch in against the opposite wall from the TV).

yeah, denon uses some heavy duty stuff in their receivers. my receiver weighs almost 30 lbs by itself

Brighthouse Cable. It's a Motorola 6200. Nothing special other than HDMI out. I've had it for a few months.

It's my basement. The room is L shaped. One end of the L is what you see. There's a bathroom and a closet behind the plasma. The stairs to go upstairs are behind me. On the other side of the L (to the left of where the pictures are taken) is my computer desk and the door to the laundry room. Without a wide angle lens, the perspective doesn't look right in photos.

Brighthouse Cable. It's a Motorola 6200. Nothing special other than HDMI out. I've had it for a few months.

Is that a DVR as well? If so, I gotta figure out how to get one of those, mine's a dual tuner but only has component (which I think is the same as HDMI minus the audio). I called Brighthouse up to see if I needed a new box if I picked up an HDTV set and they said if it was silver that I didn't (but yours looks silver too....).

Right now I just have an ancient 27" CRT. The movie set-up is an Infocus X1 at ~90" on the wall, audio through an old pioneer with a pair of Yamaha bookshelfs and a Sony powered sub.

I'm looking at getting the current 50" Panasonic 720p (75U) sometime soon, but I'm tempted to hold out until 1080p sets come down. Once I get that, I'm going to replace my receiver with an Onkyo.

That one's not a DVR. I do have a dual-tuner HD-DVR upstairs on the Sony 40" high def CRT but that box doesn't have HDMI (it does have component and DVI). I should be home all day tomorrow if you want to come over and check everything out.
