thanks guys, im going to probably just go ahead with it but i have a few questions because i know little about them. I notice that all the kits seem to have one sensor with them, so it only draws measurements from one bank? i would have thought you would want to know whats going on in both banks? and BADAIR, where and what did you get?

with the diablo an dmost dyno tunes on a stock pcm you cannot adjust bank to bank.. Some you can do cylinders individual but rarley. At work we monitor each bank with ecm's but in this case i dont it will matter.. i know number 8 in a nitrous app. on the 4.6's 3v seems to run the leanest. Not sure on the 2v.. im sure you could ask around and someone would know.

Put the sensor in one bank and drive it around and wot log it switch banks log again and see which ones leaner with any changes and leave the sensor in that bank. the other will just run a tad fater which is fine.
 
Sweet, im going to try to get one here within the next week or too...the new motor still seems to be getting pretty shitty mileage but maybe thats just cause i cant keep my foot out of it? anyway Quasar where and how much did you pay for your XD1 gage?
 
BTW, i am a tad bit retarded when it comes to the tuning of the car, if and when i get the wideband about where should my A/F be at? and if its lean/rich do i just take or add timing or pull or add fuel at WOT ?

I got mine last summer from EAD performance. I think I paid $360 for both guage and LC1 kit.

Not sure how much you can do with your programmer, but I would assume there is a way for you to adjust fuel at WOT. You can mess with that a little bit on motor to get comfortable with it and see how it affects your afr. Like larry said 12.8-13.0 on motor.

For timing, again, not sure how you adjust it with your programmer. The ls1 software gets pretty involved with adjustments based on RPM vs engine load tables ect.. but maybe yours allows you to do +1/-1 across the board. :dontknow: If you plan on leaving in just one tune for motor/spray then dont touch the timing, maybe retard it a tad even depending on what shot you go with.

On spray I'd probably give up a few HP and tune the fuel for no leaner than 11.5.

Yeah the tuner he has should do

global timing adjustments
and then you can adjust also within 2k-4k wot, and 4k-7k wot
same thing with fuel if i remember correctly.
 
yeah 11.5 is safer.
alot of people say 11.8-12 but I am not gonna go over 11.8 once past the intial lean spike. the higher Hp the shot the richer it should be
