I drive through that intersection 4 times a day and it sucks when the signal is out.

With that 7,500watt unit what all can you use in your home? I'm just wondering. Does that allow you to live as normal or do u have to unplug a bunch of stuff as to not overload the generator. I mean as long as I can run the important stuff like garage lights, air compressor, small welder then I guess I could live.
So you're saying I'm not OHSA approved?
Wife fucked up... She said she wouldn't mind a backup house generator...
That's some shit I would do... :bowrofl:The neighboring farmer hooked up his 50K generator, then looked
down the road and saw the horse farm 1/2 a mile away all powered
up.
He then realized he had forgot to shut his main off!
Did you have to get your meter upgraded?Generac, Honeywell and Kohler are all the same just sold in different stores with different stickers. We have a 20kW Honeywell natural gas unit, no issues at all. I change the oil every couple years and he have it hardwired to a cold weather kit (basically a trickle charger for the battery and oil heater for the block).

I'm afraid my meter is going to need upgrading with all the stuff that house currently has...![]()
What don't you like about the Generac? Looking at hooking my parents up with a basic 6k watt natural gas unit to replace their Generac 5k watt portable gasoline model. They already have a transfer box and just need to power the essentials but want something with continuous fuel supply and electric start. Figured for ~$2k plus install supplies you can't really go wrong.I'd stay away from Generac. Kohler is a better option at roughly the same price point. Onan (Cummins) if you got the money...

When I was shopping for a generator, a lot of install companies refer to them as Generjunk. I don't know how true or accurate that is though. I ended up going with this one. Only used it a couple of times for a few hours so far, with no problems. What don't you like about the Generac?
