If you could have any car from the year you were born, what would it be?

Not a whole lot of cars in 86 im too crazy about but i love trucks from that era. I'd probably go with a K30 silverado:

Close... but just needs a few extra doors
I was thinking the same thing when I seen this thread yesterday. 85 K30

Full frame? Whose doing it? That's awesome!

I have a solid rust free 68 Fastback that needs restoration and I would love putting a full frame on that car.

What else do we have to talk about anyways? Let's see it Raj.

Thanks, guys. It's a 69 Fastback. Was brutally rusted, but fine for what I wanted to do. Basically the only parts we're using from the car are the roof and the rocker panels. Even the upper and lower cowl needed to be replaced.

It's a 2x3 steel tube frame, but will be integrated to the body with a mostly hidden chrome moly roll cage (no door bars). The mockup engine is a Coyote from a 2012 pickup, but we are building an engine for it with true 2012 Boss 302 parts and decent rods and pistons. It will be supercharged and run on e85. We want at least 800hp. The trans is a 4r70W. The rear end is a fabricated 9" with an aluminum Strange center section. The wheels are Weld 17" RTS with the biggest 17" drag radials I can find on the back. They're M&H tires all the way around. Front suspension is by TCI and the rear suspension is a modified 4 link that was originally designed to bolt into an old mopar for restomod cars.

Here's a couple shots of the frame and mocking up the body on the ground to verify that the stance was correct:

The front of the frame will be angle cut and capped, just to fancy it up a little. the core support will be a bolt on piece, and the firewall and floors will be fabricated. I'm not 100% sure what to do with the interior, but I'm thinking stock dash and door panels with modern gauges in the stock locations. We're also thinking maybe 4 bucket seats, recaro style, with 4 sets of harnesses. Also thinking if we do that, we can use a stock style console, but extend it all the way to the back of the car. I'm thinking my kids will dig riding in the back with the car set up that way.

It's going to take some time to get it finished though, I'm going to probably put it on the back burner when the race season starts.

Wow Fryguy do you ever do super fine work!

So you basically built this car from scratch,
can’t wait to this work of art when you’re done.

What color is she gonna be......something bright
& sunny :coolio:

I definitely can't take credit for the craftsmanship on this car, lol. Unfortunately it's way above my skill level. The car is being built by Eliminator Customs in Grand Blanc.
