I think leasing might be dead next month...

I don't know all the details yet, but a lot of us saw this coming. I mean c'mon, driving a $40K truck or car for $200 a month just doesn't make much sense. I know, that being at a Chrysler store, it's something the corporation did to help us move all these units off our lots. Well it looks like it finally caught up to our banks, who are the ones responsible for the loss your car takes at the end of your lease cycle, since it is in fact the banks vehicle.
Our store sells around 600 cars a month. About 90% of those sales are leased. That's kinda scary. They are going to have to get real creative with the financing to reach a comfortable payment for most people. On the bright side, business should be VERY good until next friday. I've always leased at least one of my cars. What are your guys thoughts?

So Chrysler is ending all leasing or just adjusting the residual values to more adequately reflect true value?

FWIW, I've never leased a car.. I simply cannot accept the idea of always having a payment.

I buy my cars and lease my wife's. Maybe she'll steer clear of the steaming piles of Mopar shit when this Pacifica lease comes do if the incentives aren't there. (we've had nothing but problems with both of her Pacificas)

I rather have a Pacifica then a Exploder... :thefinger

It just depends if you need to tow anything huge.. The Pacifica is a *FAR* more comfortable vehicle for trips.

The only Chrysler vehicles I've ever considered (because of their odious safety and reliability rankings) are the Wrangler and the Viper..

Apparently we cannot use Chrysler Financial for leasing after this month. We are in contact with alternate banks as we speak...

1) Ford FTW....my family & I have had several and none were a diappointment in any category. I LOVE my Explorer- can't kill it.

2) Lease FTL....just like renting...I refuse to pay on something I don't own and the mileage restrictions would kill me.

Hmm. Is CFC dropping leasing altogether or just from certain dealers?

Alltogether=All dealers. Another interesting note, I have a strange feeling that G.M. might be in the same boat as us. Cerberus not only owns CFC, they also own G.M.A.C.

I always lease my daily drivers. I beat the hell out of them. I am way too hard on a vehicle to drive it for more then 2-3 years.

If I bought the trucks I would be upside down in them after 2-3 years of me driving them. Mileage is not an obstacle for me.

Leasing makes sense for me.

I am on my 6th lease vehicle and I have never paid anything to turn them in. I did own a Yukon Denali for 2 1/2 years in that time and lost my ass on it when I sold it.
