I need help Epoxying my garage floors! Did you DIY or hire a company?

A guy around the corner from me used the Home Depot kit, it looks really nice. I thought he had it done professionally. He rented a sander and sanded the floor down, and prepped it really well. Just like any paintjob, it's all in the prep. Is your floor in good shape?

I just did couple garages the other week.

Check out Norkan in Roseville for supplies or epoxy-coat, also in MI. I used Silka gray epoxy, HD chips, and ColorChips urethane.

18" roller, 24" squeege, mixing pails, brushes etc ... get the spike shoes if you're doing chips.

Rent a 10" diamond grinder with vac from HD. Grind the whole floor. Vac, vac, vac.

Fill cracks and crevices with SilkaFlex SL sealant from HD or norkan.

Blow out the whole garage. Mop the whole with barely damp mop. Wait 1 day.

You will need 3 people total to make this easy. One to mix the epoxy, one to spread, one to back roll it.

PM me if you want ... I can swing by on the application day with spikes to help spread the chips ... it's an art lol ;)

This is the texture after diamond grinding.

I obviously would be willing to help with the labor. Ive never done it but I can follow directions. My roommate did his garage back in the day, he is always telling me he will help me do mine. I can also drag him along.

I'd love to do mine, but I'd concerned about durability for a "daily driver" garage. Salt, dirt, heat, cold, jacks and jackstands...I am thinking I'll paint mine as it's easier and cheaper to touch up or re-roll every so often.

I would say stop in at my shop and look at the floor (paint is 7 years old now-with daily traffic-spills) and Ill explain how I did mine and recommend which products to buy (I did quite a bit of research) but somehow I get feeling you won't make it....:poke:
