Stupid thing STILL hurts like hell, can't grip with my right hand or even touch my index finger, so I haven't done any art for 5 weeks. They might have to remove the nail.

Yea, dont want to see mangled finger for sure :)
get well soon, have you tried your art with your non-dom hand?? I think of it as a cross dominance exercise. I was doumbfounded when I started painted/drawing with both hands...

I got my thumb a couple years ago on one, surprisingly the nail grew back and everything is fine aside from some lost feeling at the tip.

It's more of a "I need both hands" kind of thing as opposed to one hand or the other. I've actually been spray pulse mig welding left handed while hiding my right hand behind my back, and the reason I'm still tigging righty is because if I did it lefty I'd be pointing the torch at my bandaged finger.

i had a cut off wheel explode. exited at my left thumb. shattered both thumb bones, severed 90% of the tendons AND muscle through my palm. it hurt.

that happened in 2000. i still get the fibers coming out of my hand. was in surgery for 8hrs. was told most of that time was cleaning the shit out of my palm.

i thought i lost my whole thumb for sure.

i still have nightmares about it.

I remember talking to you about that before Anthony, that didn't sound like fun.

And Dane, fuck that, I'm not clicking on it

 it's just a little bit of bone poking out. :)
the good news is that it didn't hurt nearly as bad as it looks. the bad news is that it still doesn't "hurt".

I was able to grip the tig torch normally today, that was cool. Can't bend the finger all the way, and the nail is sketchy, but the constant pain is gone.

two srugeries, one to go. 3 months on crutches non weight bearing no driving. I can't find the X ray but i broke the round bone on the inside of my ankle, and fractured the tibia or fibia ( cant' remember which) about 5 inches up. I have a wire basket on the ankle bone, two screws at the base of the tibia/fibia from the dislocation of hte ankle to hold the joint back togethor while it healed, and a plate on the tibia/fibia. I broke one of the screws when i first started walking and had to have it drillied out from the other side of my leg to remove the fragment. Not fun!

HOpe the finger heals man. Good Luck

Lucky me i found it
