Al thats not even funny..Well kinda is but the cop that seen it happen told us there was 3 people killed in the last year from deer coming in the car like that. He told my mom that if she had wen't over into the other lane...I would not have been here telling you guys this
I was talking about the damage in general, not that you and your mom could have died.

Crash sensor will only deploy the airbags if the impact registers enough force. In most side impacts the force isn't great enough to deploy the airbags.

Even in some serious front end impacts the airbag will not deploy. That doesn't mean they aren't working, it means the crash sensors didn't register enough force.

We use to have people come into the Bodyshop bitching that the airbag was faulty because it didn't deploy. It's all about the force of the impact.

Good info Matt. Thanks:badass:

I once saw a kid in high school (who drove a mildy beat up Neon) pull up to a parking spot, he tapped the curb, and his airbag went off right in his face. I was sitting in my truck smoking and I about pissed myself when it happened. Man was it funny!!

The older Ford crash senors had a brass ball bearing. When the impact was great enough the the brass ball bearing would move just enought to touch a contact and it would deploy the airbag.

I don't know if they are still built that way<I've been out of the BS for awhile>

I will get pics up as soon as i can. I have to get them on a CD. Im poor. I don't have a scaner.

In the pics that i took it doesn't look AS bad as it did. For the fact i had to pull some shit away from the tire and bend some shit back so we could drive it to my brothers house. Witch was not far away

That is not the typical vision that comes to mind when you say; "... and Bambi climbed in the truck for some road head". :D
