SO I have a built, swung arm Banshee w/ paddles waiting for me to take to Glamis next week.

After a day or two there, we're heading up to Lake Powell to do some Stripe bass fishing. (strippers???) I guess these things get near 25-30lbs.

What else should I do out there? I'll be there for a week...
thoughts?

Um, Glamis, just stay there, you will not want to leave. I havent been to silver lake, but everyone that has been to Glamis says silver lake is a parking lot in comparison

Spent 3 days at Lake Powell in 2003. You will not want to come back. When I go back i'm definitely getting a houseboat for a few days at least and some jet skis!

Where is Glamis and what is it?

My friend mentioned a House boat, but they are like $1500/week or so...

There is only one hotel on the wate,r very nice but also expensive, in Page, AZ. If I were you and the weather is going to be nice, I'd put that money toward a houseboat for at least a few days. I think you could do as little as 3 or 4 days on one. If there is only 2 people it might be unreasonable, but if you have a few people chipping in i'd do it.

But if you dont do the houseboat thing I think you can rent 16-18" ft boats too by the day. My point is just get out on the water!! There are so many little coves to explore its amazing. Also the worlds largest arch of rock is there.

That is cheap if you have the max number of people boat will sleep.

Oh I definitely agree. But if you have a family or its just one couple, and you have to pay for all of it, that might be too much. Either way, get out on the water!!

My friend moved out there with his wife about 4 years ago and had been bugging me to head out. SO he came up a few weeks ago and we went salmon fishing on the Pere Marquette. Now I'm heading out there.
His neighbor is taking us out on his boat. That's about all I know.

We'll likely be camping out in tents, fine w/ me. He's bringing his handgun as there is a lot of unfriendly wildlife out there.

I guess the plan is 2 days at Glamis, and 3 at Lake Powell. I'm sure I'll ahve a few hundred pics.

What else is there to do in AZ?

I have a ton of pictures from Glamis I will post when I get home. 100x20 miles of the biggest sand dunes you've ever seen. I will search for some threads right now.

Lake Havasu. Sedona. GC to name a few things. It mostly revolves around the desert so... It's definitely no central florida or las vegas when it comes to attractions though. You'll stay plenty busy with the scenic stuff if you like that. Grand Canyon is a whole day thing right there. You can ride an ass down to the bottom of the canyon and camp out there. Or go whitewater the colorado.
