Can someone look up this VIN please 1FALP42T0RF232802. Too late now to learn bad news but still want to know...Thank you!

Dave

yeah. it's slow as heck but drives and looks nice. I actually think the cats are plugged.

Drop the H pipe down and see if it makes any difference in performance.
Yes it will be loud as all hell, but is a quick and dirty way to check Cadillac convertors. :)

Thanks for the tip bro. Was gonna run a vacuum test first see what that shows. It has all the symptoms but dropping the H pipe will tell us for sure. If they're clogged I bet somebody will steal them then I'll have to get pipes put in Dangit!

Yeah but this thing is fine at part throttle, floor it and it goes down to about 50 horsepower. No codes. We had this problem with a couple cars in the past. I'll be shocked if it's not the cats.

I bought this car also on Friday...The owner has a shop and is giving it a tune up and adding power steering for me. I should be able to get it in a week, or so...

I just wanted a finished, driving car because of my current situation....I still have my WIP Studebaker.....

grr

Nice toys fellas! My brother in law just aquired his Grandpa's stock 1990 5.0 convertible. I told him to try and keep it stock, ten holes and all...

Enjoy the new ride! Any plans for it once you figure out the issue? Pics?

Gary, bad ass ride! Any details?

Sure - It is from a friend of a friend who owns an antique car glass shop, is the second owner and has had it for over 20 years. It is a life long Calif car, originally from Palm Springs, now in Ontario, Calif. The current owner had it painted 4 years ago, put in a 350/350, added disc brakes and had the interior redone. Since he specializes in antique auto glass, he also can remove the vent windows from many cars...

I had this problem in my mustang many years ago, it was the fuel pump. Drove and ran great until 2500 rpm and it would fall on it's face.

Very cool wagon Gary!
The stang passed the vaccuum gauge cat test so I don't think it's the cats now. So yeah fuel or spark. Strangely I've had ignition issues like this. No missing, runs fine but bogs under hard throttle. Will test coil and plug wire resistance, and fuel pressure. This thing is so original it still has the cover on the distributor and original wires from '94!

Cool, enjoy the car Gary! I like everything about it.

As for the Mustang, good luck getting it going.
