So I have this raggedy old chevrolet that needs a trans rebuild, and I was going to put a cam in it anyhow. Mike Ridings is doing the trans for me, and Larry said he could give me a hand with this little project. Since it needed a cam swap and trans swap he figured the motor/trans might as well come out.

This is crazy how you take these apart, I'm used to a fox mustang where it's super easy to just take the motor and trans right out the top. This is how these goofy chevrolet guys do it:

Seems kinda crazy to me to lift the whole car with a cherry picker, but they seem to know what they're doing.....

Raj, you have an Orange Camaro???? SWEET!!!!! They are a great car! I thought about dropping my engine out when I did my turbo install, but just left it in the engine bay and did my install with the car on jackstands. That is pretty funny to see it picked up by the cherry picker. I considered doing that with mine (have a ceiling I-Beam mounted electric chain winch hoist that I could use)

you can drive a turbo for a daliy driver!

Hell yeah you can DD a turbo car! I put almost 3000 miles on mine just this October! It is fun, reliable (so far), and will surprise a few people on the road. ;)

no the pics suck. it is RED... something to do with the light and me not knowing the settings on the camera.

larry helped me with this magic trick too.

Davis thinks doing it this way is crazy. Its not bad at all is it?
The only thinng that sucks is the starter, crank wires should be on the other side of the A/C line. Then you would have to unhook those and pull them over the a/c

I think Davis does it that way too, but he uses a hoist :)
