How to react to a misleading FOR SALE ad.

have him look through Carmax. I know if they find the care someone else you can put a deposit down and they sill ship it to you. At most you lose the deposit, at best you get exactly what you want.

Sue them in small claims court for the cost of the airline ticket, time and expense.
Really? Sue them? Come on, that would be such a waste of time.
Yeah, ran the carfax. Zero accidents on it.

Sucks, but at least you know now to have tons of pictures taken if you do it again. I've looked at TONS of Mustangs in my day and the owners "perfect" and my perfect always seem to be different. Did you ask if the husband was killed in the accident?

Well, did you check the build date on the car? Maybe it was built on a friday before a holiday or something. J/K

But for real, maybe the people had no clue it was in an accident, or whatever. I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt. Honestly, if my mom, sister or even my wife had a car like you described, they would never ever think there was anything wrong with it. Non car people don't know what to look for after a car has been repaired. Maybe they bought it that way and didn't know any better because the car fax was clean. You said they looked surprised when you offered them 6k under. I donno. I always give people too much credit I guess. I'd still be pissed off too, but I'm saying, maybe its not really their fault.

On the other hand...if they did know....then fuck em'. Shame on them for trying to pass that off as mint. I would also like to see pics of the car. What a waste of time. So disappointing.

I remember going with dad 5 hours once to look at a "rust free" '67 GTX that was so rusty the quarters were flapping in the wind. It happens. Give the people a piece of your mind and move on.

The women was an emotional wreck. As soon as i started pointing out problems with the car she ran inside crying. I honestly dont think she had a clue that it has been in a accident because she was border line nuts but her father who wasnt able to meet us HAD to have noticed the issues. Even if he didnt notice overspray, tape lines, and caulk everywhere how could anyone that isnt blind say there are no scratches when i spotted several imperfections right off the bat.

thats because he figured if your flying out that far to get it.. more then likely you will be bringing it home. he just wanted to make a sale

one mans trash is another mans treasure....
The definition of perfect is different to just about everyone.

Maybe consider feeling lucky that your friend didn't just buy it and have it shipped like so many people do. This way your only out the time and money for the plane ticket and some other BS...
