How to find buried invisible fence wire

Moved into a new place in the fall, and need to install invisible fence for the pup. While cleaning up the yard this weekend I found portions of an existing system in the woods. But I have no clue where it runs through the rest of the yard.

I figure there has to be a way to find/detect the rest of the system. It's clear that many owners ago took the control box with them, as There is no evidence of wires coming into the house, or any control box.

Any way to discover the rest of the loop? Can ms dig help?

Miss Dig can't help. If you know it is Invisible Fence brand, they can come out and tell you where it is. They put a test signal on one end of the wire and locate it from there.

Nevermind, you need to have the transmitter unit as well, sorry.

If you can find the ends, you connect a RF choke coil, $2-3 at Radio Shack to the ends then tune a handheld AM radio to around 600hz, the signal will come in, then go out when you are away from the wire, or it will go static if there's a break. I'll have to find that instruction online. I have the choke coil if you want to borrow one.

I have the name brand Invisible Fence system in my yard. My dog passed away and I may be selling the whole Invisible Fence system. Make me an offer. It's in Genesee County if that makes a difference. It's a half acre lot of wiring.
