How much to have a hood prep&painted(Boss Inc)

Yea, I would blend the fenders and fit hood prior to paint ....The deciding factor on cost would be, "how nice do you want the hood to look? "I did a Davinchi hood for a newer stang and it looked "ok ",but still required a days worth of labor to make it straight and fit well ...but hey, I'm a perfectionist.

Yea im thinking that installing the hood and taking it to him would be the best bet.

That could work also I suppose but I want too throw an idea at ya.....If the hood is brand new and never been worked I would reccomend that you mount the hood and drive the car with no work to it for at least a year and then get the paint work done too it,...you will have much better results in the long run. Most people will just go ahead and do the work and are dissapointed when the car sits in the hot sun for a day or two and say "WTF ??? , this hood looks like shit !!"

 just a heads up

Ice nine is not a sponsor anymore.

Beware of them. Keith did a shitty job on paint on the bumper for my viper...gave him a 2nd chance and it came out even worse than the first time. For having bragged about working with a bunch of vipers I got a pretty lame ass amateur job and had to have it redone again for a 3rd time somewhere else....I mean I had runs, paint peeling, etc. It was pathetic. I could have done a better job in my garage.

You are the sole reason we do not sponsor the club anymore.

While our business continues to grow because of our dedication to our work all one needs to do is look at the high profile vehicles we have done. It's all documented, in the press and on TV so it's not hard to find the proof. While no shop is perfect we do pride ourselves on doing the best job we can. There are a lot of shops out there that do good work and all I can say is to do your home work and choose the place that is right for you. If it's our shop, great! I promise to do the best job we can. If it's someone else that's fine too.

That being said, I am sorry that we could not make Darko happy with his project. We wish him the best in his business and future projects.

And for the record...if our work is good enough for these two guys I think we can handle just about anything else.

I respect your attitude, think you are a nice guy, and think you must be doing something right since your facilities are state of the art and its obvious that you turn out good work.

Having said that, all I can speak of is my personal experience with the work that I received. I even told you when I dropped off the parts that price was unimportant because I wanted the car perfect. We both know the work was no good both times you painted the car...not just once. I wasn't being overly picky either, the paint had runs in it, was severely mismatched, and not prepped properly causing paint to peel off the bumper itself. The hood latch cable was kinked not adjusted properly causing my hood to crack in the corner by the headlight.

I don't want to get into all of the details, but you and I both know that the quality of work I received was pretty poor.

Maybe I'm the only one that has anything bad to say? I don't know, but it has to be said.

I don't know, maybe you focus on giving quality work on the guys pictured above and shit on the little guys like me?

I really wanted the work to come out perfect, because I thought you were a cool guy and I'd love to have a painter connection that could turn out perfect work since I always have lots of high end paint work...but I guess the search goes on.

Deep down I think you agree with me, but would never be able to admit it in public. If you want to send me a PM apologizing I will drop this and never bring it up again.

Keith's done a few jobs for me and I never been disappointed. I stated my opinion just like you did, is that a problem? Thought not

Darko- re read my post. I did in fact say I was sorry we could not make you happy. I have done so repeatedly. There were other issues with your particular unit and we even brought Chrysler in to try to make the clamshell fit better. Not every shop has the ability to bring in those guys.

Again. We are sorry we could not make you happy.

That being said if anyone needs work done we would be very happy to help out Motown Muscle members at a discounted rate, even though we are not technically sponsors anymore.

I forget how many various paint jobs I sent to IceNine over the last few years. Everytime the work was done right, and on time.

In fact, it was usually ahead of time, and extra work has been done because Keith didn't want to let some things slide.

Painting a hood ? LOL, yeah they can handle that ;)
