How much to have a hood prep&painted(Boss Inc)

Im just purchased this for my 04 gt and am looking for some info on the cost of this to be painted, also should i just have the hood painted off the car or take the car with it installed? Any reliable shops? Im in monroe county(newport), i was debating on taking it to monroe dodge since i had some body work done there a couple yrs ago on a ram and they did i pretty good job but other than that i have no experience anywhere else.

Any help would be appreciated.

Take the hood WITH the car. In MY opinion you MIGHT want to have the paint blended in to the fenders because there may be a visual difference between the two paints. You're probably looking at 4.0-5.0 hours of labor to paint the hood (I am guessing, I forget what it actually is) @ $44/hr (that's the Lansing body shop average labor rate, I don't know Metro Detroit's but I think it's a couple bucks cheaper) + materials at $26/hr and that's just for the hood and doing it properly. Add maybe 1.0-2.0 hours blend time... I haven't written an estimate or looked at a labor book since the beginning of March so it's been a little bit... I might be foggy.

^Agreed, test fit the hood first, getting the hood to fit is often the hardest part, never heard of Boss inc. If it fits good my guess would be $3-400 to paint it and install on the car, I'd send the car and hood separately, they'll wanna do the underside off the car, probably the top too but everyone's different. If the car is there they can check the colour and rec. a blend if needed.
 
I have a boss inc. Hood. Its the 00r for 94-98 but from what i can tell is that its a great fit as far as getting the gaps lined up. I actually went with them because a) they were cheaper than cervinis and b) all the reviews online said that their hoods required little prep work to get straight

Yea i had a 2011 ram and my neighbor's kid ran into my drivers door with his 4wheeler and they fixed it and i couldnt even tell it was ever there, and my other neighbors kid went down my driver side doors with his bike handle bar and they did another great job on making it look like it was never there......I had bad luck with that truck the first couple months i had it.....Damn kids lol

What happen to yours?
 
I picked mine up at Norwalk Raceway Park (Summit Motorsports Park)during a fun Ford Weekend for $300 They are a good piece.
 
Yea, I would blend the fenders and fit hood prior to paint ....The deciding factor on cost would be, "how nice do you want the hood to look? "I did a Davinchi hood for a newer stang and it looked "ok ",but still required a days worth of labor to make it straight and fit well ...but hey, I'm a perfectionist.
