How hard/how much would this be to fix?

You've got to cut out the cancer first in order to know how bad it is. Chances are that windshield frame is gone. You could do a quick patch and try to get most of it out from the outside and it wouldn't be too bad. I'td probably come back in a year or two though.

won't know anything till you pull that window trim out. odds are its rusted all down that trim strip. best thing to do would be cut out and replace but i bet you could get away with a good sand blasting and some etching acid.

Any idea on a cost on this?

I thought it looked like an escort. :peelout: but :dontknow:

Could be. Old Civics and such like to rust right there as well... And I cannot stand those a-pillar-mounted antennas!! :pow:

It's an Impreza 2.5RS

I'm hoping it's just surface and can be sanded down, filled, primed and painted. Maybe I can use this to talk the guy way down.

Rust is just like cancer. If you don't get it all it's gonna come back. I'd go to that little town in Texas "El Passo" on the car.

Yeah I'd use this as a negotiating point. You can't see how bad it is now, and it is going to cost you at least $200 to have the windshield pulled and put back in after the repair.
