my opinion? great drivetrain, awesome interior, and perhaps the most boring exterior ever. but, i think it would make a great sleeper!!

I think it's hideous.:puke: I also think they brought the car out too late, the body lines are very UNINTERESTING. (to me) It looks like something out of the mid to late 90's (monte carlo / cavalier / sunfire). Great job +1,000,000,000 fuck up points to the GM bean counters. Lets trash the F-bod, and bring in a crap ass GTO. Just because the car looks that terrible, I would pass on it even if it had a ZL1 in it.

I hate to say this, but i'd rather try and squeeze my shoulders in a vette then tool around in a GTO, but i don't have to because I have a cobra:D

How is it that you can be energetic this late? lol

To be honest i like it.YEA it looks similar to a Grand Prix or Cavi, but its whats under the hoot that counts. kinda like dating an ugly chic or something. I've personally looked at a few but not driven one yet. WOuld i have one as a DD ? NO Would i own it as a 2nd car ? Maybe

If I needed four seats, I would have gotten one.

I did... so I did. ;)

I went by a cop on 94 a couple of weeks ago doing almost 100. He didn't even give me a second glance. (Probably because he didn't think a Cavalier could go that fast.) Sometimes it's good to be able to fly under the radar. Those people who hate have never been in one.

I wasnt a fan at first. But then as soon as i drove one i fell in love for sure. I will own one someday.

It would've been a hit had they named it anything but GTO.. it kind of had high expectations that it couldn't live up to as far as styling.

It was styled in the 90's, and brought over here to fill the void in GM's lineup. Did people forget that? I think its a pretty good car for what it is and is probably the most practical sporty car.

It was something Lutz decided to throw together when he visited Austrailia. Its a Holden Monaro that has been federalized for US consumption. Trunk is small because the feds mandated certain placement of gas tank. 400hp, 3.46 gearing with IRS, excellent road car with some wheel hop at the drag strip that can be addressed. I had an 04 for a 24 month lease and moved up to the LS2 05. Used 05s can be had for $23000. New 06s are down to $28000 range. It makes F bodies seem like shit boxes, and I've had 18 4th gen F bodies. Car is very nimble on the road and doesnt feel like it weighs 3750 lbs.

As soon as the Camaro and Buick are gone, im getting either an 06 spice red, or brazen orange, or the dark blue from 05

I think the GTO looks pretty good myself. All I can say about them since I havent driven, or ridden in one yet.

Sorry, the styling kills me. The Goat is the grandaddy of detroit muscle. When i hear someone say GTO i think Judge!! When i look at the very few late models driving around, and in the car lots it makes me giggle. I automaticly think of mardi gras beads hanging from the rearview:lol:

Do something retro like the challenger, or the camaro. I think they'll do alot better. Let one of our sophisticated detroit designers draw it up too!!!

The car was thrown together quick to get it to the US fast. They used the excess capacity of the plant in Austrailia (18000 units per year) and had to get permission from the UAW to bring it over. The new 09 GTO, sister car of the new Camaro will be engineered from the ground up and will have styling hints from the 69 GTO along with a 480hp engine and paddle shift A6. :-)
