Did anyone watch horsepower tv this mornin?? they had some crazy twin turbo set up on a c-5 vette, the turbos were in the back of the car under the rear bumper?? it was a fidanza turbo set up went from 350hp to 537 with the turbos!

from corvetteforum..

Congratulations to Paul Major and the Vette Doctors for building the Worlds Fastest and Quickest C5 Z06. This beast has a Rear Mounted Single Turbo C5R Powered LS2. The Exhaust System was custom Designed by American Racing Headers, the car retains the stock frame and front suspension with the addition of a 12 bolt GM rear and Powerglide tranny mounted up front by NeverLift and Turbo People provided a very good tune.

.....
im just saying that sts's kit is not the best.

and if some of our twin turbo vette guys put a 12 bolt in and a powerglide they would be trapping alot lower... (at least .5 off thier times if not more)

If Paul Majors could have fit a 101+ turbo up front... he wouldn't have gone rear mount. :D What he drives has absolutely no connection to an STS kit.

First off I don't thinkg PM's car can even be considered a Corvette at this point. Second, his car has nothing to do with STS or the STS television program.

Are there any locals that have a Corvette wtih an STS kit? I'd like to run one and post the results on CorveteForum. Maybe that'll shutup some of the lying nuthuggers.

it looked like a good bang for the buck to me? considering it was a pretty easy bolt on application, but i am no vette specialist by far so i may be wrong?

looks pretty much like a vette to me

Car is amazing!"

"NO! This is a stock chasis, full stock frame 3300 pound car! NL installed a 12 bolt rear with a torque arm and moved the tranny up front. This thing still has the stock front end as well!"

There are very few people posting that seem to have halfway decent results with those kits. By the time you upgrade the kit to run decent you could have just bought a real turbo kit.

or built a motor, or a supercharger, or.... I personally feel the STS systems are a waste, for the little gains that you do see (in comparison) it just doesnt make sense for the money tied up into the whole unit compared to what you could do with other mods, 537 hp isnt anything to brag about for an LSx powerplant w/ 2 turbos, so basically in short.... yawn, im not impressed

I made more than 537 (way more) with my TT setup on a stock bottom end. And had better spool to boot. BTW, I don't like superchargers either. Been there done that.

FYI: It was a C6, not a C5.

Hey Mark - Have you seen APS's new kit for the GTO? ~$6k with bigger turbos than the old kit. I don't recall the final numbers but I recall that it was decent for a couple of hairdryers without even having to remove the heads.
