Hoover Dam.

Is this a God damn? lol had to say it

Would be cool to see one day, one hell of a feat of engineering!

I guess they use to let you tour the inside, not sure how deep you can go now...shit changed after 9-11.

Although I think they are more worried about another Decepticon attack.

I have been to the hoover dam over 20 times, its a tradition for my grandfather and I. I went on the tour when I was around 12 years old and you had to wear hard hats and it was a really cool experience.

Nice pics! It's pretty cool to see. I did the tour around 2007/2008. They were just starting to build that super high skinny bridge. I think a helicopter tour from Vegas would be a lot more fun than driving there in the traffic with a rental car, especially if you can't take the tour anymore. I'm sure they have a nice tour so you can see the damn/lakes/canyons all in one shot for a decent chunck of change.

You still can tour the inside. I did it probably 3 years ago.

One of these is the centerpiece of the sleeve on my left arm...

Is the bridge open yet? When I was there two years ago they were just starting to span past the cliffs on each side......looked like a pretty crazy job to be working on the bridge build.

Yea, I went a couple weeks ago when I was in Vegas, did not go on the tour. You dont have to park in the pay and park area we parked in one of the free parking area's

I watched a very sad special on that dam a few months back. They had modern-day engineers talk about how they would improve it, etc. Was very interesting until the end, where they talked about all the modern-day precautions we use, like environmental studies. Basically the bottom line was that we could never do a project like that again because of bureaucratic bullshit. Seems in the years since it was built we have taken a few steps back.
