Hooking up non ATT suplied router to UVerse

So....I hate the junk 2 in 1 that came with ATT, and I finally bought a netgear night hawk router and netgear ADSL2+ modem.... I can't figure this shit out, do any of you smart people know how to hook up the netgear? Net gear was usless, ATT was retarded, and geek squad was "uh yea that's hard, we don't know"....
Anyone care to step by step this shit for me? Lol ugh

It is supposed to work but I'm just retarded. They said something about bridging it? And guys at best buy said that what he runs with UVerse. Both boxes say they work for ATT too

You need to disable the firewall on the modem. Both the router and modem have a firewall, so one is conflicting with the other. Disable it on the modem end and it should work.

It should be in the settings page of your modem, have a look at the manual. The IP address should be something like 192.168.1.1 or something along those lines.
