Hood struts

Who has put them on car? How do you like? And what brand is the best? Also does aftermarket hood or oem matter?

I had them on a few cars.

Steel factory's hoods and fiberglass hoods. Get the correct kit.


I used redline

He's a ford engineer with ties to svtsinr so I know he was cool!

I've got the MRT ones, they work great. No complaints.

It DOES matter if you do have an aftermarket hood though in some cases. Some of the cheaper fiberglass hoods are so light that the strength of the strut can actually risk damaging the hood when you go to shut it if the OEM hood was heavy.

Bi-fold hoods arent good. weight of hood, placement to hood, and material of hood all need to be factored.
