Honda vs Mountain Dew

 Have you ever worked on one, or used on as a DD? Doing both things will change your mind if you are over the age of 22.

Love them, spent more time inside & under them than most Subaru owners, and I'm 26. If the market didn't allow me to pick up the Viper for such a low price and sell the STi for such a high price, I wouldn't have sold it.
Subaru's are like LEGOs.

Speaking of Honda's, my fiancee might end up with an S2000.

Speaking of Mountain Dew. . . it holds up well to Hummers too.

Honda's are absolute fun to drive. Over-sized go karts. Would I rather have my domestic muscle for a toy? Absolutely.. But for a daily driver, my bone stock Civic is great.

And the argument is invalid by todays standards. Civic's come with 2.0 liters :)

apparently not everyone here lives under a rock.

and drag racing? really? ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.

. you really should be more open minded. :D

You are never open minded on here, or so it seems. Only driven one Honda before, and I wasn't impressed. I think some of the new Si's look pretty nice, though. Still wouldn't buy one, though.

Dane's a bmw fanboy, so his opinions are worthless.

my opinions about bmw's changed dramatically after a trip to the shop today lol... i want a mustang again.

:gr_jest: some funny stuff on both sides.

While I understand the argument for smaller better handling cars, for some reason people forget that you can gut a Mustang, get a full cage, put slicks on it, and it too will handle quite fine while still having more than enough power.
Not all imports are civics / Civics aren't the best representation of imports by any means.

Thanks OP for making me LOL btw

theres no such thing.

im going to take a wild guess and say a shop is trying to take advantage of him.

really, the only thing expensive about his car is that its awd. transfer cases are pricey. i thought that was recently rebuilt though or something. the most expensive thing i've had to buy for my car is a trans. a whopping $300. if i would have searched more, i probably could have found one with a low mileage engine attached to it for the same price.

just some suspension parts that need replacing, the awd wasn't working right so we put it up on a lift, it was my stepbrothers shop so no one was taking advantage of me he does labor for half price for me.. but the half arm on the passenger side was popped out so we put it back in and the awd has been working better, but the arms both need replacing anyways.. 60 bucks a piece, needs a bearing, and the joint in the control arm is bad causing alot of looseness at high speeds so i can't drive on the free way.

The control arm is the only thing im complaining about, the fact that mine is an ix makes the control arms for other models pretty much useless, its a 340 dollar part, i could just buy a new bearing but theyre attatched to the arm so you end up having to buy the whole arm as one piece.. that repair is gunna have to wait a bit but the rest of the maintenance really isn't all that bad.

i guess at the end of the day i just miss the rumble and feeling of a v8 lol
The awd makes the car 10x as fun in the snow though :D

hmmm, i didn't realize the control arms were different. that makes sense though. maybe try turner motorsport? i got both of my control arms (OEM) for like $180 shipped. im still working on all that stuff though. did control arms ( they have 2 ball joints built into them ), urethane CAB's, tie rods, axxis ultimates, brembo blanks, stainless lines, BMC, and slave cylinder. but i drove it around with the front end all loose for about 6 months. i'm sure you'd be find on the highway.

anyhow, my car is getting a new clutch right now, ellipsoids, 4500k 55w HID's. i just bought urethane TAB's, diff mount and subframe bushings yesterday (also urethane). today i bought a new side marker, ash tray and blower motor. considering i've purchased some of this stuff for my old civic and 240sx, its WAY cheaper than it was for those cars. way less aftermarket, but cheaper overall.

did you sign up for E30tech or r3vlimited?? if not, you may want to do that. those guys can show you where the deals are at. i almost dropped $230 on a clutch kit from one of the BMW parts dealers. did a search and ended up finding one for $148 shipped, and it's the same damn thing. but good luck getting it back together.

yeah i signed up over there as "getslideways" i posted a thread about the repairs im doing and they found me a control arm for 270 with free ground shipping, so your right they do know where to look.

Im a little hesistant to believe the engine rebuild was all that legit since i can hear an exhaust leak at the headers right by the flange and its ticking pretty bad, just gunna use some exhaust poop for a temporary fix lol

im not a fan of supras. they weigh too damn much! evos make power to too many wheels. i am the ultimate supra/evo hater. hahaha.

my turd sounds better than a supra anyhow.

its quicker than most hondas and has more displacement than a 2L mt dew.

i always forget you have that 240, as much as i love my e30... just gettin back from the auto show really really makes me want another fox body again. I'm afraid my auto ADD is kicking back in, i can smell a craigslist ad being posted in the near (warmer weather'd) future lol

Any car can be fast if you build it right. it doesn't take 5 liters to go fast, just takes a little boost and some technology.
