Home Depot

On a basement? I've heard specifically not to use metal studs on a basement since of the moisture issues. Also, carpenter ants love foam based insulation.

use metal studs to finnish your asemeny you will be glad you did
also use solid foam for insulation

i like them both but lowes is closer to me by a mile... ive always liked lowes a little better just because the lighting inside is better...

lowes seems like its based more on finishing your house or office where home depot is more of the rough construction

yeah I just started, looking for any ideas if you dont mind posting

Here are some pics from my 3 YEAR basement project I did. It was fun and I would do it again. You can save a lot of money over 3 years vs. paying to have it done in 2 weeks. A few things that helped me was to plan for it even if I didn't need it now. I have a string to pull wires (or what is needed) from one area to another. With 80% of my ceilings dry walled, this helped when I added a phone line to my Dish Network box. Try to use all space available, built in shelving. I had to cut (friend's paver patio saw) the cement floor to put in a full bath. I will post some more tomorrow.

I went to HD last night, they closed at 7. I went up to Lowes, they closed at 8. Lowes is cleaner, and has better employees IMO.

Here are a few more from the 3 year project. I used copper sheeting w/marble tiles for the counters.

Is there a maximum of 5 pictures? Or is it due to the size of the pictures? Any help or tips would be appreciated. I am usually just reading and not writing.
