Holly Blue Fuel Pump (HELP)

I got a holly blue pump and when i am driving car, the pump will shut off. When it stops can't here pump when switch is on. wait 5 min then will start up,then 5-10 min later it happens again.

Any help would be awsome.

I had 1 that did that, it was getting hot and shutting down, replaced it with another Holly blue never happened again

Did they replace it for free, car only has 500 miles on pump

they wont warranty it, what about the relay or wiring? that could be the problem there. if its not wired up right it can burn the pump up.

Car still runs, but didn't put a relay on it.

you dont have a relay on the pump? you should put one on it, if you dont have enough amps to use the pump it will burn it up.

try the relay first for sure its cheaper.

I had a holley blue do that once. I'd hammer the car and then the pump would stop working for 5or 10 minute. I bought a rebuild kit and it was fine ever since. I never ran a relay to it either. Still don't have a relay, been that way since 1990 lol I think the vanes would just get stuck in the pump and it'd stop pumping :dunno:
