Stay away from that avenger series garbage. Just get a mechanical Holley 650. Easiest carb in the world to use.
part number for 302? there are 100's of holley carbs and I get confused!
There isn't part numbers for carburetors based on engine family. But almost ANY Holley carb that claims 650cfm with a mechanical secondary, and a dual feed will be great for you. You can get them in an electric or mechanical choke. Most popular and most advertised today are the ones with electric chokes it seems. Something like this is what you would want.

It's inexpensive and will work great. It gets more costly if you want to "pretty" up the carburetors look. I've used this carb on bigger cubic inch engines and have even been decently fast with it in a 3,300lb vehicle. Of course this was after slight tuning.
Does that carb allow for the kickdown on a Ford AOD trans? That seems to be a problem that I'm having finding the right carb. Or is there an aftermarket piece to attach for the AOD kickdown.
I'm running a 670 Street Avenger right now, it's been pretty decent. What is everybody experiencing that makes them "garbage". It ran pretty decent right out of the box for me. Plugs have looked good, part throttle has been good, and I'm running it tonight at Milan, though I'll be messing with the trans cal more than carb tuning..
