if you dont have a tractor, i would pay to have it done. we did them at my parents with their bigger kubota tractor, and it would still take a min to get down.
Mike, I did this with a cousin recently. We dug exactly 10 post holes for a fence, 4ft deep, and it took 2 hrs with a 2 man auger.
It helps to have a strong helper though (i.e. strong knees and back). Tractor auger would make it too easy. lol.

Geoff, thanks for the tip with Sal. I'm just pouring post footings now and will do the floor in the spring. That's the working plan now. I will know more after this weekend. Wife and I agreed on the location and orientation, I need to mark the hole locations. If the weather cooperates I may try to level the hillside a bit and see if I need fill to make this work. I chose post/beam construction based on not needing a slab to frame and roof.
I just double checked with the city and they downgraded to 10x12 for no permit or rat wall. I now need a permit and 24" rat wall.... this just got more complicated.
