Why does everyone south of US-12 (Michigan Ave) say "get dinner" when it's lunch time? Then they say "get dinner" at dinner time too? Are all meals dinner? :893Poopy:

Im south, but only by about 250 yards, I must be safe too. Maybe its cause my street touches MI ave? lol.

I live south of US-12 (off Platt rd), and I say get lunch at lunch time, and dinner at dinner time.

get dinner is codeword for denny's or big boy, those are the only two restaurants south of mich ave. lol

Hmmmmm, you might have something there. I am in Kansas right now - so I will have to ak's somebody.

You weren't listenin boy. It's dinner in the afternoon then supper in the evenin.

dinner is definately NOT before 2/3 PM. dinner/supper is interchangeable IMO.

Even where my folks are in Tx its not that hillbilly, lol.

Maybe its a stupid North Southener thing. IE just plain idiotic. Need more 'Tuckians to chime in here.

Hell I live in Belleville and don't hear it too much there. But if I venture south into Sumpter Tucky it gets perty bad.

A guy at the railyard said it today about 1pm CST? Thats what got me thinking. Maybe they were just pullin a fast one on my yankee ass?

Maybe its becuase the menu at Churchs and white castle and ponderosa are all the same at lunch and dinner. so therefore the two (Dinner and Lunch) are interchangable.
