Hey guys a co-worker is having trouble bleeding the breaks on his escourt. I'll turn the computer over to him.............

replaced frt. brk. rotors, pads, and calipurs, clamped calipur hoses to replace calipurs, lost all pressure when I tried to bleed the system. ( 4 wheels) may have done wrong procedure.

What procedure did you use? Did you start at the right rear, left rear, right front, then left front?

The proceedure according to the book was RF,LF then realized all pressure was gone. This was the old pump the breaks and hold untill bleeder screw was cracked and closed again. I even tryed to use a Minivac with no results. Maybe there is a hydraulic fuse somewhere?:dontknow:

Gravity Bleed FTW. Fill the ressie and open the bleeders and let gravity do it's job. you should get fluid to the bleeders in 5 minutes or so. keep the ressie full and once you get fluid out of the calipers, close em up then check your pedal. should be pretty good. If not, you might have a bad master. I've seen masters that worked fine till they got fresh fluid in them then went out. Good Luck.

make sure you don't let the resivour get low enough to suck in air. If you do, and the car has ABS, it will be a pain to get the air out!

X2. Be sure to keep the res. cap off (or loose) and filled with fluid. Do this first, then do the conventional bleeding method if necessary. Even if the car does have ABS, it shouldn't be affected since it is "upstream" of the components that were replaced.

did you put the calipers on the correct sides?(bleeder screw at the top)

been there, done that, got the T-shirt. you'd be amazed at how long it takes to figure that out. :pow:

They put a stupid system on that car. The logic behind it was if you broke a line of had some type of pressure problem you would still have one front and one rear brake working. What you have to do is reset the proportioning valve. and this has to be done multiple times while bleeding the system (very stupid). What you will have to do is bleed the right rear then the right front untill you get no more air. you may have to go back and forth in order to accomplish this. then do the left side same way. What ends up happening is a valve will close off from too much fluid loss to retain brake pressure for the rest. You will feel a slight thump in the pedal when the valve centers.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys, :badass: Mopar, I heard there was a hydro fuse but couldent remember if it was an escourt. Thanks for the info:thumbsup:
