Holy self love. I feel bad for your wife. I can see it now she is in the other room and she hears the soft words of "I love you", she gets all warm and walks around the corner and there you are staring into a fucking mirror. LMAO!

so Al, your the guy who sounds like he's taking a dick up the ass by suprise? :flip:
Dear God! I am not that guy who screams and yells like a wild banshe when he lifts. I may let out a grunt or two, but nothing crazy that distrurbs the whole gym. Plus, I don't do it on purpose or to attract attention to myself. I'm a small guy and actually prefer to not be watched when I lift. I'm small and weak and I don't want everyone in the gym to know that. You shrug 600+ lbs for 20+ reps and see if you don't let out a grunt or two.

I never understood why people lift weights other than if your job depended on it,
I guess its the hardass complex

I sit at a desk all day at work and get zero exercise. For me it's a good stress release and keeps me healthy at the same time.. Definately not a "hardass complex"

Hardass complex? Not at all. I'm a little sissy girl and I know it. I just like to look good. Plus, if a tree or car ever falls on me I'd like to know that I would be able to lift it off of me...you know, just in case.

Im not saying not to be active like running, tennis, hockey hell even bowling but to sit in a gym and pump iron doesnt make you healthier (somethin like that)

I am active, but why not tone my body and build muscle at the same time??? I also do cardio at the gym

I also do 30 minutes of hard cardio before I lift. Anything else you'd like to add, Jack Lalanne?

WRONG...actually...lifting does MAKE you healthier.
Any type of activity, including lifting weights, offers benefits to both cardiovasular and mental health of a person. IE example, heavy squats, task both the largest muscle groups (legs) in the body, secondary stablizer muscle groups recieve benefits from holding the bar on your upper back. You will burn fat quicker while maintaining more lean muscle mass which equates to high metabolic resting rate= healthier than someone who DOESN'T work out.
