Here we go. MSP undercover crackdown

They are gonna jam up the stupid fuckers posting Facebook while driving. Every single traffic lights you go to someone is delayed when it turns green because they are surfing the internet.

Absolutely. I doubt this will be enforced to the T, more or less going after the constant social media offenders.

Careful.... MM's police apologists will tell you that it's a hard job and we deserve whatever they decide to give us.

Look, I have much respect for our law enforcement. Depending on the community they work in, they see and deal with a lot of crazy stuff. But this new crackdown as outlined in the news article is simply over reaching. I'm all for women getting ticketed for texting and doing their makeup while driving. I see it every morning on the way to work.

Not to come off as an ass but I routinely see women texting with both hands on the phone and head down while 1/3 of the car is in either lane. I do see guys texting as well but far less and not as erratic.

Eating french fries and watching TV in Ann Arbor... Looked like big bang theory.

Is the dog driving? Because this bitch is on her phone holding the dog up...

I drive 8 hrs a day. I see dozens of examples of bad driving every day. Almost every time (90% or more) it is someone looking at their phone/texting.

Punish the effect, not the cause. I don’t care if the person who runs into me was playing with their radio, arguing with a backseat passenger, putting on makeup, shaving, or driving drunk.

The effect is the same and the punishment should be the same. Oh you had three drinks - going to jail for years .. Texting your boo? Here’s a $100 ticket.

Texting laws have been on the books since 2010 - given the increase (assuming the reported metrics are valid) in incidence of distracted driving it’s clear further legislation in Lansing and the subsequent police-state enforcement isn’t the answer.

But then how do you punish a old person who's skills and reaction time are about that of a drunk driver?

Older lady in a Toyota echo doing 25mph southbound Mound this morning during rush hour. She almost got steamrolled about semi. How would MSP handle that?

Driving down 16 Mile Rd to Van Dyke today at 130 and saw some asshat eating chicken nuggets and using the other hand to hold the dipping sauce
