Help with impala please

i want to do the exhaust on my impala. I would like to go with an off road pipe and get rid of them cats. im not sure on how much back pressure that ls1 needs so im asking the pros.......whats the best solution?

also any other suggestions to beef up that motor that are reasonably priced would be great

If the exhust is in good shape and the car is mostly stock just goto a
muffler shop and have your catts cut off and have pipes welded on. Not all will do it. Or buy a used set of gm xport pipes from the cop cars. Cop cars didn`t have catts and they already have the o2 bungs welded on.
For mufflers get magnaflows or hooker arrowchambers but make sure you know the length of the stock ones and see if you need offset/offset or center/center and check the size of the pipe. I think its 2 1/4 on a clean95ss
I think i still have my tail peices with hanger and chrome tips to eliminate the resinators off my cleaner95ss. Then you just need a 125 shot and you will be all set:)

sorry about that i meant to say lt1 i was kinda tired when i wrote that. thanks for your help and let me know if you want to get rid of those tail peices
 
Ya i will dig them out this week end and get you a couple pics. There upstairs in the garage attic. Its not the whole tail pipes its just a piece of pipe with hangers and tips. So i take it your ss is stock ? Whats next on the list ? Got any pics you can post ?

yeah my ss is stock, i bought it in texas 3 and a half years ago and it has been sitting around ever since, due to recent divorce status i have had to start driving it. from sitting so long it needs some tlc to get back in the game so i figured that i would start replacing stock parts with performance........and hopefully ill get another car so it can go back in the garage. i have pics but i dont know how to post them

When your ready to do a stroker lt1 let me know i built a few of them.
I got my 95 ss 396ci going 10.82 with a 150 shot. I sold the car last winter and might be buying it back in the near future. Now i`m doing a mustang with a lt1. heres a couple pics. I used my stock one to pull the other one.

No there B&B Fabraction valve covers to clear my shaft mount rockers.
Just get a new cap and rotor from summit or jegs. I get a discount at jegs if you want a price let me know. Its not much of a discount maybe $5-25 off ??
But your going to need a speicial torque socket to take apart the opti. I had to get mine from snap on. I think the size is 14. I think you can only get them from snap on or mac tools. Is you car running ruff ? How many miles ?

Or see what LJ has ??? He`s also good at tuning your computor so if you need somthing done ask him.

i hoping to get mine back soon. I told him i want first dibbs when he go`s to sell it. Well he e-mailed me not long ago and said the wife is prego and the car might be for sale soon. I e-mailed him back and told him i hope she has triplets hehehe.

My car has just over a hundred om it and i was replacing the wires on it last week and i was having trouble getting one of the boots off the distributer, when i finally got it off it broke half the plastic off the cap......i put the new wire on and it ran fine for a couple of days but then started running rough like it was missing. so im guessing that i need to replace that cap........my goal though is to get an lt1 block and start building my next motor peice by peice
