So my buddy did a mass air conversion on his 87 GT and now the car cranks but doesnt start, the car ran (poorly due to mods but still ran)
So here is what we have done: fuel pump didnt prime after the harness swap. Relay is good, wiring to and from the relay is good. I can jump the high current side and get the pump to prime but it will not prime by turning the key. I have checked the wiring from the test port (in the engine bay) to the ground side of the relay and to the PCM, everything checks out fine. Resistance thru the PCM and drivers is about 4k ohms.
I have not had the chance to look at the car in about a month and figured Id post here before taking another look at it.
Im gussing there is a broken wire from the ignition to the PCM that signals the key on, stopping the PCM from energizing the relay. I dont have the schematics in front of me and its been a while since I have looked at them.
