HELP:: who uses progressive ins. ???

Slickstang,

I can only tell you my experiences with different companies. I will say that policy can vary by office. When I moved down here, I worked at a Chevy dealer and handled Allstate, Nationwide, GMAC, AIG (now 21st Century) and State Farm as direct repair programs. Some details may change, but the basics are the same. State Farm wasn't (and probably isn't right now) using aftermarket sheetmetal parts because they were sued for putting these parts on new cars (like Allstate is doing now). They will still use them for mechanical parts (radiator, condensors, etc.). They also use used parts like everyone else. The lawsuit has been active for the last 12 years and is still working it's way thru the courts. They won the last round that says S/F wasn't doing anything bad by using these parts on new cars. If S/F wins this suit when all is said and done, look for S/F to go back to using these parts.

With very minor exceptions, all insurance companies use aftermarket parts. They all use used parts. The different maybe when the company uses them AAA was 12 months and 12,000 miles. Auto Owners is 3 years and 36,000 miles. Allstate will put aftermarket sheetmetal on your car if you went 20 feet off the dealers lot.
