So this is what happened.

Last year I clay barred the truck and it looked fantastic. Without washing it I then put a couple layers of wax on by hand.
so all the swirl marks caused by the clay bar are now showing through a d are protected by a couple layers of meguires wax.

What soap can I use to "strip" away the wax to start over?

Dawn dish soap is pretty strong. Any suggestions?

dawn works well....but it sounds like the issues are with the paint. filling the swirls isnt going to fix the problem.

I had a problem with swirl marks in black paint on a truck I
had years ago. I went to an automotive paint store & purchased
a product (can't remember what it is called).

I'm sure the guy at the counter will be happy to sell it to you!

My point is, you have to go to a automotive paint store to get
"the good stuff".

It's gonna take some work.. if you want to get the wax off use Dawn. If you want to remove the swirls use a foam pad and some Meguires swirl remover followed by show car glaze then wax.

dawn dish soap stripped off the wax and removed the swirls that were under the wax. Just need to start over now.

Dawn (or any soap for that matter) doesn't remove swirl marks. Maybe you had streaking going on from whatever wax you used.
