Maybe try going down 2 heat ranges. If the timing mark does not move going one heat range I would remove timing and put in a couple of fresh plugs and post pictures here.
 
So if the timing mark is close to the rim its overtimed? Just curious cuz mine are close to the rim. (Thats with spray by the way)

With black oxide plugs it is nearly impossiable to read heat range. Yes the mark should be on the bend. If its near the threads it is over timmed and its its to towards the tip of the plug it is undertimed. The problem becomes that plug tempature can acutually affect the way the plugs read.
