help.. ls1 heads question

i have a set of 5.3l heads and i hear they work really well on an ls1 because they up the compression ratio. and flow better than ls1 heads when ported but they do have a smaller intake valve than the stock ls1 heads. is it worth it to have them ported and polished and have bigger valves put in them or should i have my ls1 heads done. and i was also wondering if anyone knows if i would have to have my pistons flycut because of my cam with these heads. it has a .595 lift.

i put down 356rwhp with stock heads and intake and tb. and i ran a 12.0 @112. i plan on putting on my ls6 intake and ported throttle body when i do the heads. anyone have an idea on what kind of gains i will get hp and 1/4 mile time wise?

thanks for your help

the duration of the cam affects the PTV clearance alot more than that amount of lift.
It would probably be cheaper to use your 5.3 as cores for ported 5.3's

like he said, its not the lift its the duration.

i think you should be fine if you dont mill your 5.3 heads. you have the tourqer v2 cam dont you?

do you have a lockup stall?

you can have the work dont to the 5.3 while your car is still running and as your budget can handle

sorry with all the posts. i have one more question.. i have a 4l60e that is completely built. before i had the car tuned at vector it shifted fine. but after the tune it short shifts when i go from a dead dig in drive. but then if i try to shift it manually most of the time it will bounce off the rev limiter even if i shift way before im supposed to and it wont shift untill i let off the gas. does anyone have any idea why it does this.. i have taken the car back atleast 3 times and it still has the same problem. and if anyone knows someone that can help me can i have their number. thank you

let it shift itself.

does this occur when say you install differant tires for the track? do you change tires when you take it to the tuner?

nope. that is with the same tires as i had it tuned with. it will spin for a second then shift right into second.
