the guy at autozone told me to put 15w-40 royal purple oil in my car for best results. well i did and she runs fucking awesome.... but my step-dad said 15w is for diesels only. and i dont fully think he is correct.i dont know the oil pressure but it is better than when i ran 5w-30. he said the 15w is gonna tare up my rings or something bad.. lemme know plz.

if u need more info on my car its in the project section. its the 86 mercury capri...

thats what i thought. but i didnt want to piss him off. it runs like a rape date with that new oil in it. and its not nearly as loud. its actually quieter with the new oil... dunno y, lol

It's quieter because the oil is a heavier weight.

I use 10W40 in my Stang, 15 is a little heavy. Just depends on your clearances.

I used to run 15w50 mobil 1....and i believe i used sae 50w valvoline race oil, now thats some heavy shit. Ive now switched to a 10w30 Roush oil w/ high zinc content and it actually quieted my motor down considerably from the 50w

Now that its warm out running a thicker oil won't hurt anything, you only run into issues when trying to get you motor to start on 0 degree days with paste in the crankcase lol

yea that oil wont be in there when winter hits. lol.... and i havent ran the car yet scott but u will be the first person to see the time slip when i do..
